More about me...
I was raised in a small Dutch town in Northwest WA called Lynden. I developed a passion for graphic design at a young age, and relocated to Southern CA to get my Bachelor's degree (while simultaneously escaping the constant rain!)
Following my graduation, I married and moved to Augusta, GA. A year later, with the support of close friends, I found the strength to leave the abusive marriage and prioritize my safety.
Upon returning to Fullerton, CA, I embarked on a journey of healing. In February 2019, I decided to share my story on Facebook to raise awareness about domestic violence. The overwhelming response led to the founding of Speak Your Truth Today, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our Facebook support group now has over 19,000 members worldwide, and we have helped about three people each week escape abuse.
Driven by a deep commitment to ending domestic violence, I believe that everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home. I am actively seeking a creative or strategic leadership role where I can leverage my unique blend of nonprofit startup experience, creativity, and cross-functional leadership to make a meaningful difference in this world.
