The Overview

Genentech is a biotechnology company that develops medicines for people with life-threatening diseases. The Genentech Training and Development team was developing a new program called the “Ecosystem Learning Journey” and needed a logo for the program.

The Problem

They did not envision this "Learning Journey" as a straight path, but rather, a curvy path with dips and turns and ups and downs. In their eyes, it didn't have a final destination, but rather a continuous learning journey as time goes on.

The logo needed to convey their Ecosystem Learning Journey concept in a way that would look good large and small, and they wanted the color palette and typography to emulate the Training & Development team's already established branding.

The Solution

After careful consideration of multiple designers, Grenetech's Training & Development team selected a different concept I created that aligned more closely with their specific vision. While I cannot disclose their final choice, I was particularly pleased with this alternative option I provided. The overlapping lines effectively evoke the essence of Grenetech's Training & Development logo and its 'never-ending journey' theme. Moreover, the design incorporates the letter 'e' to represent the company's "ecosystem."
